The Climate Communication Fund 2025: Strengthening Climate CSOs’ Communication Capacity

Climate issues are often complex, difficult to communicate, and sometimes easy for the public to overlook. Many climate CSOs struggle to break through these barriers due to resource constraints, which limits their influence and effectiveness.

The Climate Communication Fund seeks to break this cycle by strengthening CSOs’ communication skills and tools. Enhanced communication capacity enables organizations to:

>>Raise awareness and educate diverse audiences
>>Build public support and community trust
>>Influence policy and decision-makers
>>Counter misinformation and climate skepticism

The Climate Communication Fund invites applications from climate CSOs and NGOs meeting the following criteria:

>>Engage in practical, on-site climate activities
>>Registered legal entities, located anywhere globally
>>Annual turnover of no more than 5 million USD/EUR
>>Employ 20 or fewer staff members
>>Proficient in English
>>Available to dedicate approximately 16 hours per month to communication capacity building

Grant recipients receive a customized mix of capacity-building support, including:

>>Training, workshops, and coaching on communication skills
>>Development of communication strategies and plans
>>Creation of social media kits
>>Storytelling audits assessing video, photography, and social media presence
>>Support for media outreach, including press, radio, digital, and community platforms

Objectives of the Fund

The Climate Communication Fund aims to empower climate CSOs to design, implement, and scale communication strategies that accelerate meaningful environmental change. Key objectives include:

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted by email to info@communicationfoundation.org with the subject line: “CCF – [organisation name]”. A maximum two-page document should include:

>>Country of operation
>>Description of current communication gaps, challenges, goals, and aspirations
>>Overview of existing communication strategy or lack thereof
Information on communication staff and other staff involved in capacity building
>>Proof of legal registration
>>Website and social media links
>>Contact details
