Deadline 10 December 2025
The European Union has opened a new funding opportunity aimed at supporting Asia’s transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and circular economy.
This programme seeks to promote sustainable value chains between Asia and the EU while contributing to local economic recovery and a more competitive, environmentally friendly economy.
The initiative focuses on reducing the carbon and environmental footprint of key economic sectors, both within Asia and in connection with European markets. It encourages businesses to adopt greener industrial processes, circular production methods, and bio-based solutions. By fostering international standards and low-carbon business models, the programme aims to integrate Asian MSMEs into sustainable global supply chains.
Beyond industry, the programme seeks to empower consumers to make environmentally and socially responsible choices. Projects that raise awareness and support the adoption of sustainable consumption patterns are a key part of this initiative, reflecting the broader goal of creating lasting environmental and social impact.
The programme prioritizes projects that can scale up beyond initial pilot initiatives. This means expanding the reach, size, or scope of a project to maximize impact across countries, markets, or value chains. Scaling up requires adapting projects based on feedback, securing necessary resources, and building strong partnerships with key stakeholders. Gender equality and social inclusion must also be integrated throughout every project.
Eligible projects must run for three to four years, and funding is available for grants between 2.5 million and 4 million Euros, covering up to 75 percent of total project costs. Eligible applicants include businesses, research and technology organisations, civil society groups, and other private or non-governmental organisations established in Asia or Europe.
This programme offers a unique opportunity for organisations to be at the forefront of Asia’s green transition. By participating, applicants can contribute to sustainable industrial development, create new economic opportunities, and strengthen partnerships between Asia and Europe in the growing low-carbon economy.
