Applications open for FIFA Global Citizen’s Education Fund

Deadline 31 December 2025

The Global Citizen Education Fund, in partnership with FIFA, is now inviting applications from grassroots and community-based organizations worldwide that aim to expand access to quality education and sports for children in underserved communities.

This initiative seeks applicants who use sport as an educational tool to empower children and help them thrive.

Eligible applicants must be legally registered organizations operating at the community level and reach a defined population size. Grants are available ranging from USD 50,000 to USD 250,000, and the amount requested must not exceed 50% of the applicant’s annual operating budget. Only one application per organization is allowed, and grants are intended for one-year duration only. Applicants should demonstrate their capacity to serve where barriers to learning and sport are most significant.

Organisations selected will receive funding ahead of the 2026 World Cup cycle, join a global network of change-makers, and be expected to submit mid-term and final reports on their progress. The fund plays on the global popularity of football and sport to generate positive change in education and child development, and invites organizations that are ready to scale their impact by helping children learn, play and grow with dignity.
